My friend David Fooks is pretty damn talented. He’s the mastermind behind the images above.
Dave’s also used one of my favourite, eco friendly framing alternatives Panelpop.
- So Yay to that!
Dave is having one of his first ever national shows at Milk Thieves in September which starts on the 1st. He’s been lovely enough to allow me to post some of his works, which he’ll be exhibiting, so if anyone’s in Wollongong in Sept you know where to go. Stop by Milk Thieves to see Dave’s amazingness in the flesh all his pieces will be for sale.
Milk Thieves Art & Design, Shop 9, 157 Crown St Wollongong -
Show running from 1st September until the end of the month.

For those that will be in Adelaide this weekend (6th – 8th of May 2011) swing by the Bowerbird Bazaar Markets at the Queen’s Theatre. I’ll be there at my stall so please come say hello as I’d love to meet you. There will be many delightful things from many talented designers, artists and crafters. You might even find something extra special for your mum for Mother’s day. :)

This is the illustration that I’ve created for the Drawn from Fashion exhibition, which was organised by the lovely people from Leeloo. I chose to work with one of Akira’s pieces from the L’Oreal 2009 show. The exhibition kicks off this Saturday at the Melbourne Finders Keepers. The exhibition and markets are held at Docklands, shed 4 Victoria Harbour, North Wharf Road and both are FREE events. So exciting… so many amazing creations to see, I only wish I could head up there myself. But I’m saving to go away on a BIG holiday later on in the year so I unfortunately have to stay away from temptation. But if that doesn’t worry you and your in Melbourne this weekend you should most definitely go and have a looksy.
*I’m working away slowly at the competition piece for Kristin and I’ll have more to show later next week.
Have a great weekend. x

{ NECKLACE COLLECTION }

The above image showcases some of my original bird inspired necklaces that I made for the Finders Keepers Markets. I attended both the Brisbane and Sydney markets in November and early December and both were great fun. I have to say – what an amazing opportunity for creatives such as myself, being able to network with other creatives and customers. So much fun!
The necklaces themselves, are created from both original art and digital prints of my illustrations.
No two necklaces are the same which makes them extra special.
Each necklace is finished with a fine cotton thread attached to a sterling sliver clasp and each pendant is protected from the natural elements with a coat of satin varnish.
These little necklaces were quite popular and I’ve already managed to sell out. However, I’m hoping to make more early in 2011 so if anyone is interested in being updated with when I will be launching another range please email me with your email address you’d like me to forward emails to: hello[at]beth-emily.com.au
{ FINDERS KEEPERS PHOTOS }

The above pictures are from the Sydney Finders Keepers Markets where I shared a stall with the lovely Cat-Rabbit.

I took a picture of some clouds from the plane when I was coming back home. Pretty clouds look like marshmallows in the sky.

I AM ALIVE and will blog very soon. Sorry for the lack of posts I really need to get
my sh*t together.
It’s been crazy lately with – moving studios, client work and jumping from state to state. Not to mention that in the last 3 months I’ve managed to kill two computers. So thanks for your patience and I’ll make some new shiny things soon to post about.

Bird of the Sun | 2010
I’ve managed to finish the birdy that I have been working on (amongst other things).
He’ll be available as an OPEN EDITION PRINT in my etsy shop in a weeks time.
I thought that I might try and be a little bolder and braver with my colours this time around. Next image I may even draw something different than a bird. =^_^=
*I just wanted to take the time to say a massive thank you to all the encouragement from everyone. Especially from other artists and illustrators that take the time out from their busy work to write special little messages or whom send me little gifts.
Work has been keeping me on my toes lately. However, there are many exciting things in the pipelines to share at later dates. I’m also looking forward to taking some pics of the changing seasons. Spring is my favourite time of year, blossoms, magnolias and daffs all blooming. Such a beautiful time of year.
