Well I’ve been a busy bee with not much sleep happening here.
I mostly blame the silly goat that I can hear on the hills in the morning. He’s pretty noisy and very persistant with his goaty babbles so it’s hard to get any sleep around these hills. I hope someone throws him a sock to munch on soon as it’s getting a little overbearing.
I’ll even sacrifice a sock just to keep him quite.

The above image showcases some of my original bird inspired necklaces that I made for the Finders Keepers Markets. I attended both the Brisbane and Sydney markets in November and early December and both were great fun. I have to say – what an amazing opportunity for creatives such as myself, being able to network with other creatives and customers. So much fun!

The necklaces themselves, are created from both original art and digital prints of my illustrations.

No two necklaces are the same which makes them extra special.

Each necklace is finished with a fine cotton thread attached to a sterling sliver clasp and each pendant is protected from the natural elements with a coat of satin varnish.

These little necklaces were quite popular and I’ve already managed to sell out. However, I’m hoping to make more early in 2011 so if anyone is interested in being updated with when I will be launching another range please email me with your email address you’d like me to forward emails to: hello[at]beth-emily.com.au

The above pictures are from the Sydney Finders Keepers Markets where I shared a stall with the lovely Cat-Rabbit.

I took a picture of some clouds from the plane when I was coming back home. Pretty clouds look like marshmallows in the sky.

Cat a.k.a Cat-Rabbit & I collaborated to make these delightful 2011 calendars for the Sydney Finders Keepers Markets. The calendar is A5 size and each month features a different picture.

I still have a few left so the first five people to comment with the code:

The pictures above showcase some of the new accessories that I have been designing. The influence is ‘all things underwater’. Inspired by coral, fish and all things natural and organic. The materials used in the range are; freshwater pearls, silk, felt, semi precious stones, wood and sterling silver chain.

*The pearl necklace is made from alderwood, fresh water pearls that have been stitched on to a felt backing, finished with a fine sterling silver chain.
*The little fishy brooch is made from laser cut alderwood, finished with cotton stitching. (He will be in a collection of 50 pieces.) So get in quick!

Each will be available in my etsy store so stay tuned and I will let you know when I have uploaded the pics. I have a few more products to snap, I hope to have them in my store mid week. : )

Molly McGrath is a skilled architect and used the method of  laser cutting to make many of her architectural mock-ups. She saw the potential of this method and utilised this process to make many intricate and unique pieces of jewellery. Molly sells her collections under the brand Moll M Designs. Not only are these designs beautifully crafted they are also environmentally conscious. Molly wherever possible sources sustainable materials such as; bamboo, veneer which is sourced from responsibly farmed forests and recycled suede and felt.

I think there is something very special about using natural sourced objects in jewellery.

These AMAZING pieces of art, have been crafted by contemporary jeweller and silversmith Julie Blyfield. Her jewellery and vessel work’s are best known for their reference to natural forms and elements depicted in nature. I would love to own my very own Julie Blyfield brooch. sigh!
