I made my very own Treasury on Etsy. My theme is ‘all things inspired by the natural world’. I loooooovvvvvvveeeee them all!
I especially love the little garden gnome by Moontsy and Floontsy. Very cute!

I love love love these pictures!
The make-up, hats, accessories are wonderful.
They definitely have a vibe of cabaret and Parisian which I think is wonderful. Mainly because I love that sort of thing.

My t-shirt arrived a couple of weeks ago from the Finders Keepers comp. I have been meaning to post it for a while now. I’m really happy with the amount of detail in the print. I always get a little nervous about my thin lines and soft colouring when it comes to printing. But, the Finders Keepers crew have done a fantastic job.

There’s something really appealing about black and white photography. I think it’s the romantic and dreamy presence they create, especially in these images. I’m not sure what it is but these images remind me of Gustav Klimt’s paintings (one of my favourite artists). Maybe it’s the composition.

I love them and I want them all!
Cat is a lovely sort and a friend of mine. She makes awesome things with her own two little hands. Yes these little guys are all sewn by hand. That’s because Cat is a clever little button. Cat’s had her own label for a while now from memory, I think since 2005 (but it’s worth knowing even I sometimes don’t rely on my own memory). Cat’s label, for those that don’t know, is cat-rabbit. You can find Cat-Rabbit things for sale on Cat’s etsy store. YAY!

*I’ve updated my etsy store. My shop now has cards for sale, however over the next week I’ll be uploading the cards in packets to the shop as well. x

HUMMINGBIRD – 2010
For all of those that don’t know, I made a little competition in April. Where you could write what sort of bird you’d like to see me draw next. I put all the entrants into a bowl and picked out the winner whom was the lovely Bec. Bec wanted to see me draw a Hummingbird.  If you’re out there Bec I hope you like him.
YIKES now I’m a little nervous. Gulp…

Above is my illustration of a Swallow. The scanned images doesn’t replicate the detail and tone all that well, which is unfortunate and a little dissapointing. I may have to spend sometime re-scanning or trying to get back the lost detail and tone via photoshop. I’m hoping to add some more elements which, will give the image some lovely textures and patterns. But I won’t give to much away.

Above is the little Hummingbird that I was drawing for Bec whom, won my little comp. I’m happy with the depth of tone and marks. I can’t wait to muck around with some watercolour to add colour and sparkles. I have to say I don’t particularly have a plan for this little guy but, the anticipation is half the fun. All I know is that I’d be brilliant if I could replicate the iridescent feathers that
Hummingbirds have.

I’m still working on my Hummingbird image and I’m about ready to upload another WIP. I think that he’ll be completed in the next week or so that includes time for printing.
