Inspiration for a Rainy Day

August 31st, 2009 | 0 comments

I took these picture last September. They are from a camping trip that I went on with my partner and a close friend of ours. The magical place that they were taken is on the East Coast of Tasmania, near Mt William National Park. I hope to travel up there again this spring but, this time I am going to take my journal to draw the amazing scenery. : )

‘Loop connects a love of modern design with an appreciation for nature. By creating useful art in a way that respects our planet’s resources, Loop acknowledges the connection
between people and the planet.’

Loop products are beautiful, organic, hand-drawn patterns, shapes and forms. Apart from being visually stunning they also use eco-conscious materials. Loop gift cards and wrapping paper are printed on recycled kraft stock with soy inks. The other amazing thing is that Loop donates 1% of their sales to environmental organisations worldwide, through an organisation called One Percent for the Planet. Which is a growing global movement of 857 companies which exists to inspire positive environmental change.
The message is simple: 1% for the Planet exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.

Another collection crafted by Elissa, founder of Loop designs, is Doodlespark. Doodelspark is a collaborative drawing process between mother and daughter.
Rather than writing letters to each other Elissa and her mother sent letters with drawings. The outcome of these ‘draw’ letters are a collection of drawings and paintings which you can buy online here.
